AMÉRICA MAYA Literacy, Nutrition and Family Health Program
With the opening of the América Maya School, the parents of the children on scholarship asked us to teach them to read and write as well. From those requests, we were led to using the facilities to offer these basic skills, in both Spanish and English, thereby providing these parents and other adults the opportunity to break their family’s subsistence level of poverty.
This program teaches basic writing and literacy skills, while at the same time, focuses on working with families to improve their health and those of their children through proper nutrition and healthy practices.
Your donations allow this program to change the hopes and dreams of the parents and adults that it touches.
