America Maya School Newsletter - March 2004

The América Maya School opened in May 2003 with four students on scholarship funded by the founders of the school, Brenda and Jorge Alfaro from Playa del Carmen and Sara and Steve Moen, formerly from Seattle, Washington.

Sara, the Director of the preschool program, has a passion to impact children with inquisitive minds with positive methods of exploration and learning. Her goal is to bring quality education and teaching methods to the children in our Mayan community

Children learn in English and Spanish through CyberCreativity®, a hands-on educational journey which includes learning centers, leveled readers, computers in the classrooms and just plain fun.

The annual cost of educating one child, both in English and Spanish, is only $250 USD month. Each scholarship not only covers one child's education but also his or her books, materials, uniforms, shoes, breakfast, snacks, lunch, medical and dental care. (click for more)
